Plainclothes Officer Identification Training

When plainclothes officers arrive on scene — particularly with a weapon drawn — responding officers must make rapid, accurate identification decisions. Misidentification can be fatal.

This exercise trains you to locate and confirm law enforcement credentials under increasing time pressure and visual stress. Identify the officer. Identify where the credential is. Lives depend on the difference.

How It Works

  1. An image flashes for 1.5 seconds, then disappears.
  2. Press OFFICER if you saw law enforcement credentials — or CIVILIAN if you did not.
  3. If you press OFFICER, identify where the credential was: Belt · Neck Chain · Hand-Held.
  4. You have 4 seconds to respond before the image advances.
  5. Complete all 8 images to see your score.
